Is JEE and IIT the same?

JEE and IIT are not the same but interrelated to each . IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) are the topmost engineering colleges in the country while JEE are an entry exam for getting admission in these IITs. IIT JEE is usually called as the entry exam for admission in topmost engineering colleges.

JEE is the entry exam you will need to crack to get admittance into one of the 23 IITs and other colleges participating in the admission process. 

JEE is the examination you take, and IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) states to any of the colleges you will get admittance into based on your score in the JEE exams which is a bipartite examination.

Difference Between IIT JEE And JEE

Wondering what accurately is the difference? IIT JEE and JEE refers to the same exam you take to get into the IITs. Do not get jumbled with the Joint Entry Exams of other States, they are also condensed as JEE but come prefaced with the name of the State for example, West Bengal JEE.

As stated before, JEE stands for Joint Entry Exam. It is a highly competitive examination with over 9 lakh applicants performing each year. Difference Between JEE Mains and JEE Advanced

Once you have understood the difference between IIT and JEE know that Joint Entry Exam is divided into two portions. The first exam is Mains and the another exam is Advanced.

JEE Mains is the first exam  you will need to appear for if get into the IITs is your dream. This examination is lead by the NTA (National Testing Agency) and this year will be detained from September 1st to September 6th 2020.

If you get the succeeding grades (to be announced later) for JEE Mains, you are eligible for JEE Advanced exam.

JEE Advanced Examination is lead by some of the IITs each year on a rotational basis. This year it will be lead by IIT Delhi on September 27th.

Alteration in the structure of both these exam is not considerable. However, there is a significant variance in the difficulty level.

JEE Advanced Eligibility

Only around 2 lakh of the 9 lakh candidates who sit for JEE examination becomes qualified for appearing in the IIT JEE Advanced Examination. The Advanced Exam is lead by any one of the IITs on a rotational basis. 

The other criteria for admittance into the IITs is that the applicants will have to succeed in the JEE Main 2020 and the JEE Advanced 2020.
